Many of our visitors have inquired
about the rain, tragedy, and the
safety of our waters. Oahu and
Kauai were soaked for almost 40
days as a stagnant trough of low
pressure lingered near our islands
until the end of March. With the
heavy rain, one of the main sewer
lines in Waikiki burst and had
to re-route to the Ala Wai canal.
This was the only way to drain
while crews worked hard to restore
the broken sewage pipe. Currently,
the drain has been fixed with
no sewage spill occurring and
all the ocean safety signs in
Waikiki have been removed. Our
team riders have been surfing
with no health impact. We however
caution not to swim or surf near
the mouth of Ala Wai canal - Ala
Moana Bowls and Kaiser spots.
Today, the ocean is beautiful
with lots of sunshine. Surfers
and tourists are enjoying the
small south swell which moved
in yesterday and continuing today.

which had 80% share of the global
market. Surf Garage will continue
to monitor this situation and
inform all of you that our supply
will not be affected so much

cannot guarantee the price situation
and the availability of other
manufacturers.

Russ-K Classic will be held at
Kewalos and Kuhio beaches. This
exciting surfing event has multiple
divisions, and deadline is on

at the 2005 Local Motion Surf
Into Summer surf contest at the
Ala Moana Bowls. Our deep condolences
to one of the legendary surfer/shaper
Dale Velzy, who passed away with
lung cancer last week. He has
been a well-known surfing pioneer
from Southern California and also
from north shore Oahu where Velzyland
